Vita is a certified pilates matwork teacher with the method of Jolita Trahan, director of Studio Touch Pilates in Florence, since 2012. She teaches pure pilates matwork to groups and solo sessions, to empower, gain flexibility and improve control and balance within the movement. She felt the need to dig deeper the aspects of postural and biomechanics, which she uses to combine and explain to students how the body works in terms of mechanics, and seeking physics in a movement which is seen by her as a combination of lines, directions and forces.
But she also likes to research and to combine different skills.
Already interested since a few years in bioenergetics form the master Alexander Lowen, she starts looking for a new approach into body awareness. During her years as Pilates Instructor she discovered how many clients that were suffering from postural pathologies have been hiding traumas and difficult emotional experiences. She remains fascinated by the truth of a body that speaks, that she starts researching on how emotions are affecting the body and changing it, creating muscular tensions, blocks and many other pathologies, and in 2018 she takes a diploma as Postural Technician from Italian Fitness Federation to enrich her knowledge in the field.
THE IMPORTANCE OF “BREATHING” LIFE IN AND OUT
During her studies on the books of Lowen’s bioenergetics, she integrates, day by day, the importance of breath into her routine and this new attention gives her a completely different look on the life that surrounds her. When she was younger, she had a “warrior attitude”, constantly fighting against effort and overcoming physical limitations, but often facing injuries and traumas. A professional dancer’s life isn’t very easy, and a dancer is forced to go through physical and psychological difficulties throughout his career. With time and maturity, she has become more calm and tolerant to her body, allowing herself to understand her limits and work with them in harmony with mind and her emotions.
